The Freelancer
Why the contribution is important
"Freelancing" refers to working as a Self Employed individual who relies on themselves/agencies for work.
I predominantly work as a Face Painter & have increased skills for which I have become qualified for. These would be included in learning skill taught to candidates.
Make up & consultation/photographic/wedding/fashion/stage
Tattoo's: Henna/Airbrush/Glitter
Body art/Brush/Sponge/Airbrush
Nail Art
Blood n Gore/latex
I have been working with the Henbury Youth Club for 2years now. I have had much interest from the youths how to become a "Freelancer" worker within the field I work. Training would with 16 years & above. Insurers will only cover those of 16 & over.
My Idea to access funding would enable me take a small group of dedicated candidates to Conventions. These take place in the UK, Europe & Globally. Also taking them to private work shops with some of the worlds most amazing teachers.
Training would also include:
Getting candidates to qualification & working standard.
Insurance & CRB checking
Build a Photographic Portfolio
Involvement with local schools/events involving working back stage
Using different materials & keeping hygiene standards high to reduce cross infection & contamination
To study the business: Pricing up Jobs/Marketing/Self employment Study/getting to & from location work
Continue to increase skills and network whilst working
them an accountant
All of the above is crucially important within this industry. As the end result is to get candidates to confidently seek work & market their selves to make a living successfully.
This is a well paid industry. Corporate work being the main client . With very little outgoing once set up.
This project has now closed for ideas. All of the money has been allocated in the community. If you need more information please email matt_dowse@blueyonder.co.uk
